Local Community Boxing Event generates a £6200 donation to Mathew Rimmer (Brain Injury)
A fantastic night of sport and entertainment was had at the iconic FAPA dance studio aka The Old Curzon Cinema.
This year's boxing team were an absolute credit to the community having trained hard over the winter months to compete in Riff Raff Fightclub 2.
Cheetham Hill's very own Asian superstar Patelvis provided the interval entertainment and his effortless display was almost matched by our boxers before and after the break.
Mathew Rimmer and Partner Jan were thrilled with the out-come
The Society would like to express their gratitude to the boxers who raised funds to pay for their own equipment and put on an amazing show as well as making a life-changing donation to Mathew.
The Society wishes the family all the best and will continue to support them until we pass our funding target of £10,000.
Riff Raff Variety Show Saturday 25th February 2017
This year The Riff Raff Society celebrated Christmas by staging a community event with the aim of raising the awareness of our charity in Trafford which is our traditional base area of Manchester.
Big thanks for sponsorship from Gillitots Day Nursery in Partington and The Kat's Whiskers Cattery in Denton that covered the cost of the event and enabled us to provide a small Brass Band and refreshments and a visit from Santa to entertain an enthusiastic gathering of the charity's supporters who then walked around Sale Water Park accompanied by - Wait for it - Dogs in fancy dress!!
At the end of the Pooch Mooch Around 100 Riff Raffian's enthusiastically received Co-Founder Martin Green's Annual 'Queens Speech' describing the role of the charity in Greater Manchester and highlighting some of good deeds (Successful Campaigns) hatched in 2016. Martin also outlined the significance of local business support and how powerful such relationships can be when it comes to direct help for local people
2017 is set to be a big year for The Riff Raff Society as the Society aims for full charitable status and a pathway to distributing more and more life changing assistance to those in need.
