Brothers & sisters of Urmston. This year the Society will be supporting Casey & her family.
Casey has a rare chromosome disorder delition of chromosome 2. There is no precise name for her condition as there is only 51 similar cases in the world. She has development delay feeding learning difficulties and epilepsy she has no speech and has everything done for her. She is fed through a gastrostomy tube and also has problems with her legs and feet.
Her mum Danielle doesn't know too much about her condition as it's such a rare condition and gets a very limited amount of support & advice from the authorities. She just has to take each day as it comes.
The society has pledged to improve Casey's facilities in her home which is not currently kitted out with disabled equipment. The society is also committed to helping mum get some respite as the care young Casey requires is full on.
We are looking to put a team of fundraisers in place this summer to raise funds for Casey. If you feel you could help by running a 5k,10k 1/2 marathon, full marathon, Ironman, lake/channel swim, row to Ireland or by shaving your head, drink 6 yard's of ale, man versus food challenge or something really silly like pushing Ian Jones from Urmston to Sheffield in a pink wheelbarrow - Team Casey needs you!
We provide sponsor forms, Facebook support & online donation facilities so if you know and care for Casey & Danielle or you just want to help your fellow Mancunians that are facing real day-to-day difficulties. Let us help you, help them!
