Apply For A Riff Raff Society Funding Grant

In 2011 The Riff Raff Society was established by Urmstonian friends Martin Green and Gavin Armitage. The main driver for the birth of the Riff Raff Society was a desire to give local people a platform to fund-raise directly for local disadvantaged people to create a pathway for members of the local Community to help local people facing real hardship. Initially the Society’s two main income streams came from Community Social Event profits and sporting sponsorship.

As the organisation has gained recognition and popularity by successfully supporting many disadvantaged local families unsurprisingly the giving power of the society increased significantly. This has highlighted the importance of making our funding service more easily accessible to all and a formalisation of the way we process worthy cause applications.
We are now able to accept grant applications online. Please Click Here to apply

(Note - If your application fits our set of justification requirements and is successful to this point a meeting with one of our funding Managers will follow to discuss your requirements and how you could assist our organisation in the fundraising process going forward. This information will then be put before the Trustees and a decision to grant a funding campaign will follow. *Please note you may be placed on a waiting list for action – Whether or not this is acceptable to you will be discussed at the time of your application)

Conditions for Applying for a Riff Raff Society Grant

Applications for a grant are to be made online by completing ‘Apply for a Grant’ application form
The eligibility criteria for applying for Riff Raff funding Grant is as follows

Applicants must:
  • Be resident at a greater Manchester postcode
  • Must be facing challenging situations in relation to ill health and/or disability.

The Riff Raff Society will then set up an interview process where a trustee will meet with any potential benefactor and discuss how charitable funds could improve their life quality.

Typical Grant spend examples:
  • Respite breaks
  • Holidays for the terminally ill & their families
  • Life enhancing Home/Garden improvements for disabled or ill benefactors
  • Homeopathic Cancer Treatments
  • Vehicle modifications
Where ever possible the charity would push to pay directly for goods/equipment/holidays but would retain the right  to pass on finance directly (An example would be spends for a family to spend on a respite break) Funding would then be paid directly by cheque or balance transfer to the beneficiary .

Grant Campaign Funding Limitations
The society would within the grant application/interview process agree an estimated time frame to support each grant beneficiary.  The length and size of that commitment estimation would reflect the demands of the application. If the society failed to meet the grant funding total within the estimated time frame then this would be extended until the funding target was hit or both parties agreed to settle on a lesser fund-raised total. The funding application would then be deemed closed. This would be documented and signed for by the beneficiary.
